Yes I know it hasn't a wide contrast range partly due to cream colored paper and the nature of graphite

This is one of my favorite drawings. I used to grow orchids in a previous life.

I use the 'scrubbing' technique which is using a cotton cloth charged with graphite to fill in areas and alternately using erasers to remove. I often use cut mylar as a stencil to get extremely sharp clean edges/area.
Graphite: I use the entire range B9 to H9
Pencils: I am a pencil addict, there are sooo many brands of drawing pencils. You've got to try them all, they've all got their uses.
